Spacers do they really damage the transfer case.....?
Alright here is the situation guys i got "hit and ran" on back in Jan. The accident ruined my front bumper, headlights, hood and front fenders....(well that was just the body damage)....so I ended up finding a good deal on the Seibon carbon front fenders(got them stupid cheap) the ones that are 10mm wider than stock....and well the wheel setup i have right now are volk te37s in 18x8.5 with stock offset....and well they dont seem to fill the front seibon fenders that well(and it would be expensive to get the new wheels in a 9.5)...and i happen to have a pair of 20mm Project Kics Spacers and i am wondering if the spacers might cause damage to the transfercase being that the front wheels will be a little further out... and if there is no problem or issue with running the spacers would it be better to run 10mm project kic's spacers all around to get a more flush look.....but yeah Please somebody give me some input or suggestions i want to see what options i have.....or at least how you would handle the situation.....thanks for your time?
Spacers or wheel offset don't damage the TC. It's the difference in rolling diameter if you run tires of different diameters. The TC is forced to soak up the differeing wheel speeds and thats where the damage occurs.
