Help: A/C Questions

Hopefully someone can help me out in this situation. My ac is not working and its not the most comfortable drive. I looked at the compressor when the ac is on full blast and it clutch does not engage. I checked the freon and it was fine. I know on other cars the clutch cycling switch can go out so thats my first step to repairing this. Where is the clutch cycling switch on an evo? Does the evo have an accumulator/dryer?> I know I can get an idea of the actual internal condition of the compressor if I look at the orifice tube. So, where is the orifice tube? on most cars they are around the accumulator but as stated before, idk where it is or if it exist.

Its too hot to be without it now.

Thanks in advance for any help with my situation.

Ryan

hm iv yet to look at my a/c system. By "checking" ur r134a if u just pushed in the schrader valve and some came out doesn't necessarily mean that it is ok. If you don't have enough pressure the compressor will never turn on. my suggestion is see if u can get the car hooked up to an a/c machine and check ur pressures. also pull the refridgerant out of it and compare it to how much is supposed to be in their from the factory to ensure there is enough. Most a/c systems RARELY run into issues other than lack of r134a

I used an ac machine to check everything. I sucked down the system and recharged it and still no go. The motor is out of the car....I see no accumulator. I dont think I could be overlooking it.

It could be the clutch pack on the ac compressor is shot. My 03 evo's ac compressor died...and I bought one off another member here. And that was junk too. Freaking scammers...Kuya from nyc. Not my kuya for sure. It had the same problem with the clutch not engaging. It would just freely spin. Check to see if the voltage and wires are working too.
