my car has been locking me out of 5th gear every once in a while, i took it to my buddy and he thought i was just trying to put it between 3rd and 5th... well today i proved not.

i tried for about 30 min today, driving, with the car off.. everything and will not go into 5th gear, it does not grind, just vibrates really hard...

WTF??

 

shift fork inside the transmission. Not the cables or bushings. It's been happening a lot to a lot of people on here. Good luck.

Rebuild your transmission, or convert it to a 5 speed, or just drive it WITHOUT trying to force it into 5th gear. Otherwise you might get 5th gear locked IN.
