SAFC loses all settings when car is off

Andrew's car..

What could cause this if the car rests overnight? SAFC original (not version II)

When the SAFC arrived, it had older settings in memory. We installed the Field harness and changed the settings to the correct settings before starting and the car ran great.

Wake up this AM, everything is initialized. All settings are gone, and car no longer sees it as a Karman system (which threw a CEL of course).

Setting for car type is 4 cyl and the up-right arrow. What could be the issue here?

Could it be grounding? I think the black wire (harness side) was about 3" away from the brown wire (ECU side). I have since corrected this and moved them within 1" of each other.

Thoughts?

Don't select the initialize setting.....that doesn't initialize the settings you just put in, but rather erases all settings as soon as your car is turned off. No need to initalize anything...it's changed as you enter settings.

HAHAHA! I'm an idiot! That pretty much makes perfect sense. I was wondering why it didn't do anything when I hit it last night.

Thanks bro, I feel A LOT better now! I feel a little stupid, but better!

Don't worry it...I did the same thing, until I read the instructions. Trying to be smart beyond reading instructions just doesn't work as well as we hope.
