Confusing Problem?

So I was leaving the tire shop yesterday after picking up my new RPF1's for my talon. I was just trying to leave and my car went into like a limp mode or something. It was idling fine, and then all of a sudden it started to idle like it was misfiring or something. It almost sounded like my exhaust rattling against something. I figured if that was it though, it would rattle when I go over railroad tracks or something.

It happened again today. It doesnt seem to affect the way it drives. I just sounds like **** and worries the crap out of me.

I also have had an experience twice were I would start my car after its been washed and sitting for awhile. My car would bog down as if there was an intercooler pipe leaking or something. It would do that for a few min. and then it would be fine. This has happened to me twice.

Any ideas?

Try to pull the OBDII codes. Do a boost leak test and check your plugs. That should help diagnose all of the above...

Have you had your car tuned? From what I've seen at where i'm stationed, fort campbell, bad fuel maps will cause some random things like that.

The car hasnt been tuned yet. I bought it in January and the only thing I have done to it performance wise is put a 3" tbe on it. I really want to get it tuned but I am tight on cash right now.

I am gonna get the codes read today cause I know my rear o2 sensor is shot, which is why the ses light is on constantly.

I replaced the pplugs a few months ago. It just has never one this since I got it in January and now it has done it two days in a row.

I looked under the car to see if the exhaust was rubbibg on anything. It doesnt seem like it would be vibrating on anything. I figured if it was the exhaust hitting something, it would make sounds when I go over bumps or railroad tracks. That leads me to believe its not the exhaust rattling.

Well, I got the codes read again today. There was three stored. Two of them were involving the rear o2 sensor. The last one said my front o2 sensor was showing low voltage? I just replaced this thing in February and not its throwing a code again!

On a good note, it didnt do the stumble thing today, BUT! On my way home from work I happened to look down at the dash and noticed my oil light was on!! WTF now!

It went off after like 30 sec. I was driving, not idling.

So it seems that **** is just falling apart right now.

I dont know where to begin now!

Low voltage can provoke all sorts of wierd happenings. Check and clean the battery wiring.

I finally figured out where the vibration was coming from. It is the fan in front of the condenser. The one right behind the bumper. It seems like it doesn't want to spin. It like spins back and fourth and never seems to go on. Anyone know what could be causing this?

An erratic short in the wiring for the A/C condenser fan. I take it that you are using your a/c, right? You say it doesn't want to spin... do you mean that it just won't come on? You can test the fan by running two wires to the connector from the battery. If it starts to spin, then it is fine, but you may have a short in the wiring for it.

Oil light on and then off could be your po; pressure sending unit or it could be the wiring.

These two problems may be related to a common bundle. IDK, but it makes sense to ask and look into it. Just my two cents. GL

No, the a/c is not on. I just got to it right before it shut off today. It just seems like the motor is trying to get it to go, but it just wiggles back and fourth.

The oil light is my PO? What is that. LOL I have heard of the pressure units going bad. It hasnt came on since though.

I kinda took a look at the a/c fan. I didnt have enough time to get the front bumper off to really look at it, but, I think the fan's bearing is loose. The fan blades move in and out against the condenser. So I hope I can just repair the fan and not have to buy a new or used one.

So I got the bumper off and pulled the a/c fan off. That was it! The fan had come off of the shaft. It was stripped out but I managed to get another nut threaded on there to tighten the fan back on this time. Hopefully it will be good to go now!!
