Just food for thought:

After i completed my swap, I threw a P0462 code. Fuel Level Circuit Low Input. It goes away after my tank is half empty. But if I fill up all the way it comes back.

I have a Walbro that is bout to be installed but wondering if anyone has had this code thrown that has done the Mivec swap.

I am almost certain that the extra ''2nd'' relay is for Mivec and not for the ACD pump.

Can anyone confirm?

I thought it was too. Quite sure now that it's for the ACD pump. There is a large white wire w/red stripe that connects to the battery terminal and that relay. If you look at the OCV for the Mivec there are only small wires (low current draw) to power it. If you look at the ACD pump it requires alot more current, hence the larger (smaller gage) wires.

Ultimately you should be able to confirm what it's for by looking at the electrical schematics in the FSM.

That makes since. I always wondered why my IX harness had an extra wire running to the battery.

I know I'm late but the swap is easy. We did it in our shop car, just ran v manage to control mivec, still on the evo 8 ems. No real extra wiring needed.other than the obvious engine harness just for ease of instal

Hey guys,
I recently did this swap, i tried disabling the immobilizer code and the car still would not turn on. The engine cranks, but doesn’t turn on completely...any ideas on what the problems might be?? I rechecked the harness and everything seems to be installed correctly. on my dash a green "key" icon flashes...the locksmith said that i have to take it to the dealer to get a "module program" on the entire car...
Any thoughts...

lots of good info here for the swaps!

I have a questions that is ECU related that maybe someone can answer...

The ECU in my 8 is toast, my 8 has no ACD(its an 04), if I pick up an 8 ECU from an 05 w/ ACD, will it work with my 8 that has no ACD? or does it have to be an 03 or 04 ECU?
