Clarification on Turbo Terms

Hello All,

Could somebody take a minute and clarify what other are saying about the EVO turbo for the following terms:

1.) Compressor Surge.
2.) Compressor Stall.

and also, if these term are 'used/related':

3.) Turbine Surge.
4.) Turbine Stall.

I come from a jet turbine engine background, and am trying to relate the two worlds.

Thanks,

jcnel.

"Surge" occurs when the pressure on the discharge side of the compressor exceeds the capability of the turbocharger to continue to move air. A temporary "stall" of the compressor occurs, momentarily allowing air to flow backwards through the compressor.
