same engine set up?

Hi all, first post here.
I want to ask if the engine placements and components are the same in the Japan engine bay and the us version.
I want to get a HKS 3037 kit from Japan but am not sure if the orientation on the engine is the same and if the complete kit from HKS will be a bolt on without alteration, thanks for all your help!

cheers.

the engine setup is the same. however, you may need to do some fabrication to the kit to make it work anyway because that is the way the kit is. for more info and tips, give Adam from Z1 a call and tell him that Snir sent you. he can really help you out in that subject.

Thanks Snir,
I actually figured that it is cheaper to get the stuff from Japan with my wife's side being Japanese and skip the mark up, customs etc...
Do you know anything more specific about what need to be altered?
It just seems wierd to me how this kit from HKS does not fit right out the box?
BTW, what is the number to contact Adam?

the reason i think you need to mod it a bit is because the kit is for all EVOS and not just the 7-8 (i am not sure about it though). i wish you can ask someone who has the kit on the board but the only person i know is Al and he does not help with ? to much.

Adam's number is (631)-863-3820 and he is in NY so keep that in mind when you call. you can also send him a PM and he will get back to you.

actually everyone including Z1 have been ripping others off on the 3037 kit. You can get one from www.splparts.com at $4200.

I agree, the prices for the same kit vary wildly. I've seen it fluctuate as wide as $1000!! definately shop around before yo buy. And while your at it, shop around for a new bottom end for your motor, you'll need it if you plan on making the HP the kits designed for. Also, ask yourself this, when a 3-4k modded car runs 12's and 11's do I need to spend 10k more building a motor to go low 11's maybe high tens? I am struggling with that question now, I'm leaning to the budget wise plan.

bbyevo8- if you would have read the guy's post and my reply then you would have noticed that he is going to buy it in Japan and i told him to call Adam so he can advice him about the kit itself and not sell it to him. and also i don't think Adam is ripping anybody off. yes he is more expensive on the kit but that is the way he runs his business. higher prices but with excellent customer support.

Hey Blonde!

what's up! No doubt Z1 is really helpful, but $1500 is an awful lot to pay for customer support Sorry I just had to butt in on this one
