Is the O2 Housing Cover Necessary?

I installed a Greddy Ti TBE today, I got the 02 housing with it but realized that there's no where to mount the heat shield over it. Since it sits so close the the radiator I was a little concerned about having cooling problems from the exhaust heat. Does anyone here have there's off and have you noticed any issues?

You can still use it. You can use the bolt that goes into the hotside of the turbo and is in fact the only one you can use. It doesn't rattle and covers up the aftermarket parts well.

I would keep it to protect the rest of the bay from the exhaust.

What did you coat it with? Was it effective?

yea i have also heard of people sanding the stainless steal coat on it and coating it with a high temp paint. I just kept the O2 shield off, but still kept the manifold shielf on. And everything is fine so far.
