2.5" or 3" FMIC piping?

I'm currently at 625awhp with my setup (37r turbo, built 2.0, AEM, 1600cc, e85). I'll be installing the new Magnus v5 intake mani and a 75mm TB. I have to modify the upper ic piping and was told I should go with 3" piping after the FMIC.

I understand the turbo may spool a little later due to the larger 3" piping not to mention the intake and TB. What are all the 9 second and quicker Evo's running? I confirmed that Bushur's RS is still on 2.5". My large FMIC is 2.5 in and out but would going 3" from the FMIC to the TB help at all?

I tried to search on this and couldn't find anything. If there's a thread I missed, please let me know.

Thanks!

its not going to be a noticeable difference in spool up with the size turbo you're going with, so it won't hurt, but I dunno if it would be a huge difference in performance unless you're going to improve the pipe routing. If you replace all of the piping with 3 inch, and the IC has 3in and 3out, you could realize the gains of larger piping more readily than just doing one side of the intercooler.

Did you settle on the HTA or the 6262?

Yeah, I thought about getting a new FMIC with a 3" inlet/outlet. Run 2.5" to the core and 3" out to the TB.

Going with the FP HTA 3586 with the 3" outlet. For the money, the 6262 is hard to beat but I know a guy selling his 3586 brand new in the box for much less. Can't wait to get that on the car!

Thanks!
