Question sudden bog at high rpm??

I just recently put my stock bov and uip back onto my evo after deciding that the aftermarket bov was not worth it. The stock piping and bov have not been on the car since the car was completely stock. well while i was driving home after worked on my car everything seemed fine until i gave it a little gas and started red line shifting. when i got to the end of gear 2 or 3 (depending how quick i got on it) all of a sudden between 6k and 7k the car sounds like it is hitting the rev limiter but not bouncing, and acts like it is almost like a governor kicking in. I guess the best way to describe it is that it sounds very smiler to a downshift at high rpm but not as violent, just a sudden bog. it shifts fine and drives normal even at hard acceleration, but when you get close to WOT all that happens. the only thing that was done to it was installing the upper inter cooler pipe and stock bov, i went and double checked everything and it all seems to be in place. any help would be appreciated

check your boost. you are probably over boosting and hitting your boost cut.

I would say an overboost (I had the same problem when I first got my car. Had a boost pill that didn't work very well) or plugs... usually when your plugs start to go you may get shift knock but you wont see that unless you are flashed for 4 counts or higher... Do you have step colder plugs or normal heat range?

I am running stock boost, and a using the stock plugs that were re-gaped around 5 months ago. the plugs were just gaped to factory settings. If i am over boosting how do you get that fixed?? i just threw a code last night so i am over to my job to use the scanner to see what its giving me. i will post what the code is once i get it and try a few things out first. i guess i will pull my plugs and look what they look like and either clean them or replace them. the most recomended plugs are the NGK Iridium plugs rite?

Well tell me what the code is. If you overboost you will get an overboost code Yes the NGK Iridium plugs is what I use but I use the 8s becuase its a step colder. You are fine to run stock. I'm not positive but I believe that Mits used Denso plugs from the factory.

could very well be! You should boos leak test too! That's something always good to do! I just had to replace my TB Shaft Seals. They were producing more PSI then my turbo. hahaha

If it is over boost could the issue be that their is no cat? if i put a Spark Plug Anti Foul Adapter on their could that fix it? Im not quite sure what causes the car to see/ think that it is over boosting. can someone explain to me what causes over boost and possible fixes

going from a hfc or stock cat to a test pipe Without a tune, will cause you car to over boost. it happened to me your experience sounded exactly like mine, except it happened to me RIGHT after I changed from a hfc to tp
