Here's a pic of the affected part. The entire assembly is swapped, not just the pin.

I don't know if it affects the USDM Evos, but back in July there was a recall for the shift control assembly. Apparently one of the pins holding the selector on the shift control rod was not pushed in to specs. When that happens you won't be able to put the car in any gear. It affects 4,622 JDM Evo 8 GSRs.

Looks like a sprinkler head. Maybe Mitsu will use the returned parts as such...
