Who runs Kelford 280's?
i have kelford 280's and i think there great! you should get springs and retainers also. i have an 06' IX with TBE,MBC,upper and lower IC piping,HKS DLI! you will enjoy the power gain from those cams!
Kelford 280s are huge!!! A friend has them in his talon and they are ridiculously laggy. I think they are over kill and a bad idea for most cars.
I am not certain but i think some maching / clearencing is required to run them properly.

This is 100% true. They are a crazy cam and will make lots of valve train noise. Loss of low end and crazy top end. Do not even think about it unless you have something that can rev above 8k+
i was talking to Mike at ETS about this because i couldnt decide for my time attack car between the 272s and 280s he said they are gonna be running 280s on their car but eventually for my needs we went with 272s. the downlow loss on 272s for most purposes is not worth the crazy topend unless you are a drag car.
so with 272 of course spring and retainer upgrade and your set then. 280 require extra work are you sure about that?? my friend said i should get 280s over 272 and he is a toyota tech and did not say any extra machine was required when he did his just you def need spring and retainer upgrade for sure. I have a built head coming thats fully upgraded anywho but still i wanted to know the difference for sure

I'm gettin' some 280s thrown on in the next week or two. I decided to go with 280s because I'm planning on upgrading the turbo soon after.
My guy said all that I'd need to support the 280s were new springs and retainers.
