advice needed: something dropped in valve port

ok, well to make a long story short. . . .
I dropped the plastic tip of one of my injectors into the injector port and its stuck next to one of the valves on cyl 1

I tried fishing around with multiple things and cant get it out with the valve closed.
I got one of those flexible grabber things to try tonight and some other things, but if it doesnt come out, would anyone suggest rotating the cams to get the valve to open so it drops onto the piston so I can easier fish it out?

Any suggestions otherwise?

Gently blow some compressed air in there to move it around until you can hook it with something. I'd try some thin welding rod or something.

Use the compressed air, or wrap sticky tape around the end of a welding rod or something similar. If the valve was closed when you dropped it in, it's not in great danger of going anywhere while you're experimenting on what to use to get it out...

i tried compressed air when the IM was still on. Didnt try with it off. I will try that again.
I tried a vac hose taped to my dyson to suck it out too, but no go. My friend jiggled it a little loose though since I touched it last. He dicked with it while I was at work last night

Do you think opening the valve will be the best bet if all else fails? I dont wanna pull the head unless i absolutely need to
Also I tried some masking tape on the end of a coat hanger, but didnt do too well. I prob got the tape a little greazy though. Also I got a little so so about putting stuff on the end of a rod like that cuz knowing my luck that would come off in there too. lol

Heavy duty double sided tape won't come off. Bend a small 90 on the end if your concerned....

Ahhh gotcha. I guess I should prob get the regular double sided tape rather then the padded type stuff I have.
That stuff will prob come off easy so I didnt try it. If I wrap the pure tape stuff around it will prob work well.

FML sometimes!
Just wanted to do my 60K maint, some cams and bigger injectors. All went easy until this **** happened.
**** on whomever created plastic tips for fuel injectors. . . and ones that werent chamfered to not fit in injector holes in the intake. lol

Jesus . . . . I forgot that the bowl isnt matched to the valve on both sides. lol. Just a little bigger for the stem to pass thru. so it wouldnt drop anyway.

It might drop in if your valve is fully opened. You just won't be able to get anything in there to fish it out, unless you use a bore scope through the spark plug hole...

I may be way off here but if you have the i/m off is there a way that you could use a shop vac so that if you did have to open up the valve that you might be able to suck it up instead of allowing it to fall into the chamber?

I hope that sounds right and i'm not mistaking it to be stuck elsewhere....

well i tried long pics and they didnt work.
I tried the freaking flexi gripper thing and got it in literall 5 seconds!

thank freaking god!!!!
Im gonna hopefully get everything back on tommorow.
One good thing from it is it gave me an excuse to put a Magnus gasket on to cool down the intake stream a little.
