CEL problems

Just recently my car has been acting up sometimes when I take it out of gear the rpm jumps to 3k and holds there. It does it when the car is either hot or cold.
I have two engine codes that pop up
P0106
P0401

I took the egr off already cleaned it up a bit and then put it back on none of the vacuum lines were off the egr. I don't understand why that code came back on.

As for P0106 I did search around the forums for answers but everyone gives with the engine code means not an explanation on how to fix it.

My questions are is there anyway to delete the egr?
and how do I fix the P0106 code?

Thanks again,
Tim
