Lower Injector Seals - Boost Leak

After chasing a couple of boost leak problems I found that the injector seals are leaking at ~24psi. I did have the intake mani off this winter and did lightly coat them in oil after replacing the injectors, after which i did a boost leak test and had no issues.

My question: I am concerned replacing a faulty OEM part with a replacement OEM part that doesn't appear to have been improved. Does anyone know of a replacement seal that works better? I will be installing some PTE1000s in the next couple of weeks so this is a perfect excuse to replace them.

Thanks,
Mike

Get the seal kit from FIC - has viton lower seals, they work great....

PTE and FIC have the same bodied injectors - I had PTE's a long time ago and they came with (1) upper o-ring and 1 lower seal (oem type). I ended up getting a fuel leak from the top o-ring......SO I purchased a seal kit from FIC that included the viton lower seal, (2) upper o-rings, and a new hat (none of which PTE included).

I had no more leak issues and the injectors sat in the fuel rail much better....

After speaking with Jens from FIC - he recommended removing the pintle cap which is what he does on his delphi type injectors (same as PTE) Here are "PTE" injectors that I setup to fit in the rail like a "FIC" - they are 850/880's both the same injector just a different look from how one company sets them up from another.

Just a little FYI for you but def. get the viton lower seals if anything.

I had some original FIC lower seals go bad on me. I called them up and got their Viton seals.
They are fantastic. Very tight fit, nothing is going to leak from there, and should out last the car.

Bump on an old thread....I installed some PTE1200s and they did not seem to fit right / tight. I will do a pressure test later today, but I am sure they are leaking at the lower (manifold side). Should the injectors be so tight that you cannot twist them after being installed ?

bump...bringing this thread back to life! i am debating on buying some viton seals. i put PTE injectors in a long time ago and was never comfortable with how loose the bottom orings fit. i wonder if these can be causing the idle issues i seam to have
