Broken Plug wire?? What should I do?

I did a quick search and couldnt really find anything useful.

This is what Ive got. I go to change my plugs and when I pull out the plug wire to the left side of the engine (while facing the front of the car) the rubber part comes out but the metal part that makes contact with the top of the plug stays connected.

So what do I do? short of changing my plug wires. Ive been able to shove it back in there without changing the plug. So now i have three brand new BPR8ES's gapped to .022 and one old BPR7ES gapped to something like .035.

I never gapped them when i put them in. so I guess they are way off?

Is it ok to drive very cautiosly until i get a new plug wire?

Thanks for any adivce guys!

So i called Mitsubishi today in in New Britain CT Schaller Mitsu. The guy in the parts department was asking for my Vin I dont have it memorized obviously. I said there just plug wires guy im sure they were the same for all evo viii's and prob same as the IX's but i wasnt sure. so the only year window he was looking in was 2000-2007? what the hell? then hes like what engine did it have?

I ask him your looking under "evolution" right? he says yes so i say its the dual cam turbo non mivec. he then asks if its a gs? I say in 03 there werent any options like that so he says mr gs or gs3? Come on! So im like if i had to pick it would be GSR?!? anyway so he finds something and says yup we have plugs here..... I was asking for plug wires. finally he finds them and they are 80 bucks and not in stock. Thanks for the Help

Anyway Ill ask here as well anybody around the central CT area have plug wires they want to sell? I have cash and would pick them up this weekend!!!!

Thanks and let me know!!!

Yeah I couldn't believe it either. The guy also asked me is this car 4WD? Im like well sorta its AWD, "are you sure your looking under evolution?"

Anyway sucks because it was fine last night but this morning it didnt even make it out of the drive way. So i didnt even want to risk driving it. One of my coworkers luckily live close by and game me a ride.

I found some bosch wires that autozone carry's. Any idea if there legit? there only 50 bucks, special order though.
