Dealership mess up my clutch? Twin disk problem?
Dealership mess up my clutch? Twin disk problem?
Ok, so I took my car into the dealership to have my BISS screw reset and Asked the guy if they needed to drive my car to reset it. The service guy said they shouldnt have to. I informed him not to let my car see boost as I'm in the middle of having Mellon tune my car for a bunch of upgrades and its not tuned for the current turbo and they could blow up my engine if they did. So I'm waiting on them to do the work in the waiting room and decide to step outside for a smoke. Low and behold I see my car pulling into the dealership from the main road. I'm like WTF!!! I go find the service guy who checked my car in and asked him why my car was on the road. he said the tech had to do a drive test to make sure there was no stalling issues. I expressed my concernes about my car seeing boost again and he told me the tech didnt boost it, he just did a drive test. Anyways they finish up on my car (which Idles like $h1T now.) and I drive home.
On my ride home I notice some noise when I let off the gas and coast in gear comming from my clutch.. reminds me of a downpipe hitting a heat shield or a bad bearing. I've never heard this from my clutch before. I have a spec twin that would chatter when I was stoped with the clutch pushed in but never any drive noise. to top it off it doesn't feel like its engageing as hard. I dont know if they messes with the adjustment at the dealership or somthing was installed wrong when I had it put in 2 months ago and it's just bad timing. I bought it used and was told it had 1k miles on it. I put maybe 1500 on it since the install and have never launched it, hell it hasn't seen boost but once or twice because I did a turbo upgrade at the same time and I wasn't tuned so I was being gentle.
Anyways, I'm new to the whole twin disk clutch, with a push style throwout bearing. I havent had alot of wheel time with the clutch.. but anyone who drives their car knows its "feel" and it just feels different . I dont feel any slipage it just doesnt grip like it did yesterday. Before, I would feel the clutch engage.. now it smooth like a stocker. The ratteling while engauged make me nervous. I understand a twin disk chatters but I dont belive it should while engauged. Any feedback on what this could be is greatly appreciated.

chatter is cause by something warped or off balanced.. had the exedy hptwin never chattered while engaging only at idle with or with out the clutch engaged... if it isnt slipping than maybe your clutch is just normal not sure need more details
Its a loud sound whenever I let off the gas.. picture pebbels in a coke can... its loud. Oh and I'm wondering about the install because the only thing I ever noticed weird about the clutch was when I was engaging it into first from a dead stop as I started to move the clutch sometimes gave of a weird harmonics sound. Can't decsribe it any better than that.. it's hard to explain.
well ovbiously its not normal... so i would have to assume that they messed up bc you havent put alot of miles on it unless the guy before you didnt brake it in corectly... thats a though as well... but you wont be able to get your car tuned corectly if the clutch is fd up... i would take it to the place your getting it tuned and see if they cna figure it out might cost a bit but im sure if there reptuable they will figure it out
Twin disc with out spring will sound awful when decelerating and at idle.. It's just transmitting the drive train noises that have always been there but it's acting like a loud speaker.
