Help- Underhood Shifter Bushings and 6pd Reverse

Help, I just installed the Speed Source underhood shifter bushings and 1-6 engage awesome but 6th gear will not go in!

I followed the instructions within one exception I also put some antiseize around the actual brass part that touches the endlink? Would this cuase the problem?

Anti-seize is good since it will help keep the bushings from binding. Will the shifter go into 6th gear while the engine is off? If not, have a friend move the shifter while you watch the linkages to figure out whats causing the issue (shift levers possibly hitting something?).

Did you guys position the C-Clips on right???? If you do not position the c-clips on the bushings correctly it will bind. Have your buddy jump in the evo and shift away and pay attention to those c-clips. They should rotate freely and they should not be nudged into the shifting cables.

also dont forget certain bolt holes when dealing with the shifter and counter weight have larger holes than the bolts. without proper alignment, reverse and 6th will be hard to get in to. noticed this with my clutch install. shouldnt have had to lossen them for bushings though. only a thought if you took other things loose.

mission accomplished,
new i o, you hit the nail on the head. i should have figured this right off the bat, thank you. mr white, have you fixed yours yet? i would say it is very probable that this is the problem (misaligned shifter brackets) if you dismounted them from your tranny. i lined my fastener/ washer up with the clean spot on the bracket (original position).

My speed source bushings had two cotter pins rather than one cotter pin and one c-clip? Did yours also have two?
