Is there any mods for fuel economy?
The Evo fuel economy sucks. My fiance gets about 230 miles per gallon like most people here.
She said she read in a recent SCC or some other car mags that they did some Project Evo and one of the mods was for fuel economy. She told me that their EVo went from 16 mpg to about 20 mpg.
Anyone know what shes talking about?

SAFC II or some sort of reflash where you lean it out, the EVO runs too rich all through the RPM range

There are those magnets which attach to the fuel lines. A lot of the Japanese evo owners site that I visited used such things and have said it worked somewhat. One such thing is the Top Fuel POWER NEO. Your guess is as good as mine to whether or not those things really work.
Whatup,
Here are a few things that helped me:
-run a tad more tire pressure to reduce rolling resistance.
-Don't drive with your windows or sunroof open, although I mostly ignore that one.
-As stated synthetic drivetrain fluids (tranny, transfer case, rear diff, and of course motor).
I get about 21 mpg, and refill my tank (~12 gallons) at ~250 miles. Not great, but better than when the car was new, when I barely got over 200 miles per tank.
Oh, the K&N seemed to help a little bit as well. I'm installing an SAFCII, which may not help per the thread above (just waiting for my harness from Z1) and a muffler delete pipe (Bushur most likely) so that may help as well.
Thoughts?

With my full turbo back without a cat and grounding kit i noticed better gas mileage
Ill be getting greddy e-manage soon so that should help out a lot
I cant get 280 on one tank of gas

Actually, most of the same mods we do for performance also improve gas mileage.. I was getting about 225-230 miles on a tank of gas.. Now I generally get 270-300 miles to the tank.. Also driving without getting into boost as often as possible and running the correct tire pressure helps a bit..
