I recently installed an exedy twin hd in my car (04 evo8 5spd), im still in the process of breaking in the clutch. I put about 100 miles on it so far, but I noticed a grind if i go from 2nd into 3rd, the 3rd will grind. The grind only occured after 5000rpm. Its not really a grind noise, its more of a wierd quick buzz.

Something else thats annoying is the car will shift very smooth going through the gears when cold, but when it warms up it gets notchy inbetween shifting gears, like it doesn't want to proceed forward.. is this due to the clutch rod adjustment?

And is the 3rd gear grind due to not giving the clutch enough time to break in or is that most likely the rod adjustment as well?

When I was testing the 5000rpm+ shift to 3rd I wasn't in boost, since im still breaking in the clutch.

ya, ill bring it in more. I had it out to far and it was putting over stress on the clutch. Turns out the car was shifting like **** because I forgot to put the bolt and nut back on the rear tranny/engine mount.. im glad I didnt totally screw something up, considering thats a major mount for the motor support and transmission.

 

Man i know what you mean. i put a act 6puc in on my stock tran blew it up in like 1month..tcase blew w it lol. So i ended up sending it to john shep..these evos are seriously notorious for breaking lol
