need help with cel 172 and possible BBK hotside leak
aside of it leaking somewhere because of a crack or other, i cant think of something that would be a problem, and we replaced all of the sensors attached to it..
errrrr

Stock tune is on the car. BBK is still on the car. I ran the BBK for a while before I had this issue. Only possible changes that could be made is putting on a stock turd and stock IM. Waiting on Joedr to change out his resistor box to see if it helps him.
Chad, I know its frustrating for both of us. Thanks for sticking with it.

i haven't got ecu scan so i can really check but when i was at the Nurburgring recently the engine light came on after while so checked the pipe work shut the bonnet and it went off
so it was alright although it felt sort of lumpy and not as driveble. i came back and spoke to my mapper and he thinks its the fuel trims after cruising alot. i'm running RC 1000's. i'm getting a tweak next week, i'll let you know what we find.

If you force the car into open loop (using the periphery bit or through the load/tps tables), (1) does it still set the code, and (2) is the AFR close to stoich?

I can't offer you any assistance, but can relate to your frustration.
I have had the 0172 code for over a year now. Checked vacuum/boost leaks, cleaned MAf, plugs all that Jazz. It happened after a couple weeks of modding (TExedy twin clutch, EVO IX BOV, ARC airbox, First road tune)..so it's hard to tell what caused it. He didn't mess with injector trims since they were stock injectors.
Strange thing is the code will go away when I have A/C on. It will stay off for weeks during the Summer when the A/C is on, but as soon as I turn the A/C off, the code will reappear after about 20 miles.
The p0172 seems to be an elusive code to diagnose and cure from what I have read on this forum. I feel you pain.
