Fp red not sure how to tell a 80mm!

Okay so i found a used fp red that i want to buy he is telling me that this is the 80 version, how can i tell if it really is ?

Compare it to your stock turbo. The 80mm compressor housing is NOTICEABLY larger than your IX turbo. If it is not, you have standard FPRed.

it is noticeably different. surge openings around the housing is a dead giveaway

Whip out your *****, the opening should be bigger then it. The stock one is about the size of your current one.

Common now give me a break, did you goto school? Ever heard of a ruler!

um, 80mm/3in. take a measuring tape, measuer the inlet and there ya go. not rocket science.

You don't need to measure anything, you can tell from across the room whether it's got the 80mm cover or not.

Standard IX comp. housing:

ya, ported shroud inlet and FP cast into the compressor housing. not just stamped into the plate.
