hey guys i have a stock evo 8 turbo with the 9.8 i was wondering would i feel a diffrence in power if i bought the 10.5 and threw it on there and also would my downpipe still work in it thank you buys much im still trying to learn about turbos i know some but now as much as you guys do thank you

 

You probably won't notice much if it's the evo 8 turbo with the 10.5 housing (05 evo).

The 9 turbo, you'll notice a difference. They flow a little more, I think I read somewhere the evo 9 turbo is generally good for an extra 30-40whp over the 8 (once tuned of course)

 

I ported a 10.5 housing and installed it on my 8 turbo, i also ported the manifold at the same time. If you can port the parts before the install i would say its worth it. Making your exhaust system have the least amount of back pressure will help as you start installing more intense mods, such as cams.

 

your existing exhaust will bolt straight up to it

i can tell you that without a tune, you wont "feel" any difference.

i went from a 8 turbo to a 9 turbo, slight difference felt but im not tuned yet...more mods to come.
