Front LSD

Ok I did the search, did not fine what I was looking for. What I would like to know, is there a front LSD for the USDM Evo 8 ? Ralliart has one but not sure it's for the USDM car or not. Quaife has not/will not make one unless there are more car's sold. from the E-mail I got from them. What are we to do if we would like a front LSD?

You stuck with whatever you have...... It's just matter of time before LSD show up for our US spec Evo 8.

Newbie, did you really try hard on the search button?

Given that his "sig" talks about autocross, I'd guess it's more important to him than to many others.

In autocross, accelerating in a very tight turn radius is pretty common, and often with a significantly unloaded inside wheel. Upgrading to dual Quaife LSDs (front and center diffs) on the Eclipse GSX has been reported to be a very effective upgrade for autocrossing. It greatly decreases the car's power-on understeer coming out of a tight corner. The power-on understeer is a big problem with the Evo for autocross.

It'll probably cost more to install than to buy the damn things.. but yes, I wouldn't mind some quaifes myself.

The ralliart LSD and the JDM helical front LSD do not fit. Right now there are no LSD options that I know of for the US Evo 8. Yes I want one also. They make a big difference in handling.

Yes i cant waite till quaife or cusco makes one for us. Understeer is not to much of a problem for me but with front lsd you will rule autox. Installing one will be a ***** though.

That's why my clutch has to last until someone makes a good LSD for us.

Lets start a poll on the front LSD option. If there is an interest then maybe Quaife or Ralliart will start working on them.

the poll

I rather throw in a screw driver to lock up the stock gears.

Why would you go throw all the trouble of Pulling your tranny out and taking it apart just to us a phantom grip?????

Yes, I did a real search, I am a member of Corner Carvers.com .
You get flamed there for just showing up sometimes. The turn in on the Evo is good but the mid corner understeer is a *****! I just need to get more bite to the outside tire. A bigger rear sway bar will help but I don't really want to lose any rear bite to make up for the front. The other thing I can do is just go with a smaller bar up front but I will lose some of the ture in. The LSD would help with this. That is why I asked. The search I did turned up nothing that really said there was not one yet. Thats why I asked. I guess I will wait. I just hope not to long.

A front LSD makes a big difference. I've driven Evo's with open and Helical LSDs.
