Strange grinding sound with new clutch

I just had a new CCI stage 4 clutch installed into my '03 evo with a CCI lightweight flywheel. well, im driving the car away from the shop and when i let off the gas while cruizing down the road i hear this terrific grinding/rubbing sound comming from the tranny. I take it back to the shop and we put it on the lift and sure enough theres a strange noise coming from the tranny when i let off the gas in gear, usually in the higher gears at and above 3rd. The mechanic suggested maybe it's the bearings in the tranny, but the sound didn't happen till after the clutch and flywheel install. Does anyone have any clue what this sound could be i'm baffled how it's only prominent when i let off the throttle and i'm worried of driving around tearing up the tranny. Any suggestions? i'm taking the car to get looked at tomorrow
