First time doing the clutch took me 8-10hrs. No bull****. It was a pain. I think I spent 2 hrs on just getting the stupid clip off the pressure plate. Now It can be done in about 3-4hrs with air tools and no lift. Shops can get it done faster than that. I think Adam@Mojo charges like 350 for a clutch job. Thats the only accurate price around. That is what I would charge people plus fluids.

Edit.

Takes 4-5 hrs on the lift doing it right with undertray.
You are not doing an evo clutch properly on the floor in 3-4 hrs. I will give you a space on my shop floor if you want to prove me wrong :-) let me know when you are ready.

I dont use the under tray. I was talking specifically for my car and it may take 4 or 5 hrs. Whats the diffrence? My point was, shops shouldn't be charging rediculous highway robbery prices for a job that you do in the fraction of the time. 11hrs labor? Give me a break.

What's wrong with companies making a profit? After all you have the choice to do it yourself or pay someone to do it. If the price is too high, find someone else. No one is forcing you to pay anyone.

agreed with sean!

we charge 695 with fluids,

takes more than a day if we are remachining the flywheel, if you have a flywheel it can be done,

needs an alignment afterwards!

We charge $550 due to the volume of clutches we do. We have made it an efficient process that only takes a few hours despite it calling for 12 hours by the book. Dealer labor you can evpect $1000-1300.

I just had my clutch replaced last week, labor was $575 but they charge $550 for non ACD evos. Clutch was spec 2+ about $675, and fluids and resurface my OEM flywheel came out to about $1500 total. Wasn't really what I was looking forward to but now my car feels better than it ever did on the stock clutch

yeah it's in the process of getting done at a local subaru custom shop for $650 labor + clutch. i would've had it towed up to jersey sean, but the tow would've been some big bucks. i just wrote you another email about some more work i'm looking into. looking forward to hearing from you.
