Been facing a wierd issue lately with my car. With the waste gate actuator hose disconnected, the car is still only seing 18psi, across the whole rpm range.
What i did so far:

1- Changed the turbo (was going to change it regardless of the boost problem)
2- Boost leak test. No leak at 30psi
3- Car idles perfectly. No smoke at idle, no smoke at wot.


Any thoughts plz??

Not really sure what the problem is. It's not boosting? Or it's not boosting more than 18psi?

Is this an evo 8? 9? What mods?

 

You have either a bad actuator, preturbo exhaust leak, or a boost leak. I had a leak similar like you. It would not boost over 20 psi. It ended up being the Tee'd line to my boost gauge.
