Motor / Setup Thoughts
Alright so currently my car is running a Brian Crower 2.5 L stroker. This is the motor from ACP's car prior to the 2008 XGames. It was rebuilt and put into the current car where it has run perfect. The problem however is I'd like to go with something a bit easier to work with.
I'd honestly like to get rid of the whole longblock and pick up a 4G63 2.0L base and build it, however there seems to be little interest in this motor or I just havn't had the luck yet but I need to come up with something ASAP. So my thought was this. The next cheapest thing from my end would be to keep the 4G64 block and sell the BC 2.5 Rotating assembly. Then buy a set of Manley I beams and Manley pistons and pick up a 2.0 crank with the intention of running a 2.1L destroker.
I know many people have run the 2.1 with awesome results. I'm currently in college though and this is my DD so I want to have as minimal downtime as possible. I can get the motor out and torn down in a day but waiting on all these "custom" for say parts is what's going to kill me.
In case anyone's wondering, the rest of the setup is going to be an FP HTA35r, Shearer manifold, and a built head / cams.
Any input is appreciated whether they're thoughts or experiences.
