Buschur Intercooler help

Did a little bit of help and did some searching and didnt really find what i was looking for soooooo

I got the Buschur Street FMIC bc my orignal was messed by a deer.

Still waiting on my lower pipe from ETS which wont be here till monday.
Still new to the evo world so the ETS lower intercooler piping is the driver side right?

My problem started when i got it on and installed. Its quite a bit longer than stock which made the passenger side intercooler piping and coupler nearly impossible to use. searched a little bit and found ppl making their own custom piece to route back to the turbo. Im not really trying to do it nor am i trying to buy the piece of piping aftermarket. I took both stock brackets off and i stil can twist or do anything to make it connect with the stock coupler. Took a little bit off of it and still no go.

With no coupler at all the piping the piping nearly seals itself onto the intercooler.

So what do i need to do. Get aftermarket piping, or just get a silicon coupler and make it work?

lower pipe is on the passenger side

And I would HIGHLY suggest the Buschur piping along with their intercooler, you will not be dissapointed with all Buschur.

Follow the DIY I wrote on making your own or get one that fits. A lot of aftermarket FMICs don't work with the stock LICP (only aftermarket ones) simply because of the coupler that is on the stock pipe; try a straight coupler or just wait for the ETS...which might not fit either Either buy one that is supposed to fit, or make your own. Be sure to do a boost leak test afterwards

Link to DIY?
yea boost leak test is def going to happen..
If the ETS dont fit im probably going to be pissed but im sure they come with a straight silicon coupler so it should work.

I for sure need to order a Upper intercooler piping (driver side) considering its the piping that was pinched close

I ran into the same situation.

I purchased the new 3.5" Buschur Street FMIC (garrett core). Still running on the stock LCIP and Upper pipe. I just used a couple of 2.5" straight couplers to make it fit, although the stock LICP doesn't line up straight with the inlet of the FMIC. It works, but I'm sure there is a slight restriction the way it mates up.

Please take pictures when you get your ETS LICP so we can see how it mates up with the FMIC.

Thanks!

I can't really comment if the LP2 will fit the Buschur intercooler or not, but it's designed to mount up at the same location as stock using a straight coupler to the intercooler.

Life is easier when you stick with parts that were designed to work together. Ill fitting IC pipes are a real pain and more likely to create a boost leak and/or blow apart under boost and heat.

addressing the fact that you say i saved 100 for going ETS than Buschur....I didnt have a choice really was on the phone ordering the intercooler from awd and asked if there was a LICP around 200..(bc it was what i had left from the check)...so i got ETS. Its called money and i dont have an abundance of it, so if its the what i can afford than its what i get. D4mn near the same piece of pipe anyways.
I could make the Stock **** work with a straight coupler so if i did that would you call me out on saving that money too...? thanks

I will take pics of the ETS LICP fitament to the Buschur intercooler, the stock pretty much butts against the intercooler. Im pretty sure the straight silicon coupler will work with the it.

I hit bambi and am tryint o prevent an insurance claim so im doing what i can with what i can. This happened th day i got it so i havnt even registered the **** yet and am a partime UPS employee barely making ends meet selling my honda stuff to help the matter. SO 100 is quite a bit when ur 21 without parental support.

It's more economical to buy the right parts the first time than it is to buy parts that aren't quite right, then sell them at a loss, and then ultimately buy the right parts that you should have just saved up for the first time. Speaking from experience...

I would understand if i bought some ebay stuff and then complained bc it didnt work... but ETS aint junk and the stock **** would have worked with a straight coupler, so at worse im sure this would to with a straight coupler. I will post pics on how close it fits when i get it in monday....

I now have to buy the UICP and mini battery kit bc the driver side piping is also damaged.
