Swapping clutch discs

Im going to be installing a fpred and getting it tuned with my meth injection.. The car is going to make more torque then my ACT hd street disc can handle. So my option is to swap a 6 puck in.

So im planning to just swap the disc before i toast it and cause damage .

Is there anything im needing to replace or will i be alright in just swapping the discs?

get a twin disc and be done with it. ACT's are known for lock outs.

I was making 530 WHP with about 460 WTQ on the HDSS and it held like a champ. Also the 6 puck HDG6 engages way harder than the HDSS. Just my .02

An ACT will hold more power than an Exedy Twin will.

i know this but the twin was not an option right now ..

150 for a disc vs 1500 for a clutch ...

im wanting the clutch i have right now to hold the tq. Also ive witnessed an exedy with the tq of the red and the exedy cant hold it. But surprisingly a 6puck act will. Go figure.

any info on switching the discs out?

pressure plate need turning with flywheel???

i just did this, this past weekend...swapped out my slipping street disc with a 6 puck...i sanded down the pressure plate and flywheel just to remove the heat spots.....use really light sand paper, i think i used 1000 grit i believe....it feels alot grabbier than the street disc forsure...
hope this helps

The same thing that I planning to do... how many miles had your street disc when you changed it?

good luck lunching with that puck. the puck is more of an on and off switch. tricky to slip that kind of clutch when the disc doesn't have springs for smoother engagement.
