This may help diagnose....
I change my plugs at every 3-5k if they're copper and every year if i use Iridium. Its a maintenance thing. I guess its a different kind of thinking when you drive a cadillac. Its almost like saying don't change the oil until it sludges up or don't change the brake pads until you can hear the wear indicators.

So you know how the car reacts and are familiar with it as you didn't just buy it and inherit somebody else's problems....

You can make assumptions being a Cad is in my sig. but I think getting personal and saying I don't maintain my **** is pretty judgmental...

I have a lift IN MY GARAGE at my HOUSE..... (And sludgy oil lol)

Back to my diagnosis of your problem.....

1. If it had zero issues b4 plug change---- GET 4 NEW ONES and try it again as you may have gotten or cracked one. (Been there--seen that movie circa LSX motors...)
2. If all checks out still bad with the different plugs--- have a buddy come over and swap out his 1. COILS or next 2. MASS AIR METER/ SENSOR .

Hopefully one of these things will get you back up running strong

Oh... I'll buy your 3-5k mile plugs! lol

Show a little love.

I think you took what he was saying the wrong way. I also change my plugs every 5,000 miles. Im sure I dont need to but I consider it basic maintenance. I think what he mean't is your probably not all that familiar with Evo's if your suprised he has changed his plugs. I dont know you or whether you do have knowledge about these cars so thats an assumtion .

Well I sad assumtion

To the OP, I have also had a problem that sounds the same so I pulled out all my plugs and used dielectric grease on both ends of the plugs and it went away. This was like 4,000 miles ago.

I was experiencing the exact problem. I checked the gap which was .28. I re-gapped to .22 and run perfect. I also run BPR8EIX which is the 1-step cooler plug. The gap still opens one in a while. Good luck friend.

Curious, will throwing One Step Colder plugs on a stock car do anything hooky? Mine need to be replaced, and I got a little overenthusiastic and ordered NGK One Step Colders for my 05 GSR w/o doing my research. *DOH

so with all of the advices above, I am having the same problems got a .23 gap in my plugs with NGK plugs. Also running spark tech with cdi. Its breaking up at 6000rpm with boost at 37pounds. Fuel E85 new plugs new coils. AFR and timing are perfect so what I am gathering is to make gap bigger or smaller with spark tech I am thinking bigger. What is everyones input on this. If its that simple, well damn I am doing it right now!
