Hks 272?

I got a good deal on a set of HKS cams with about 32k miles on them...is it worth buying them for that many miles on them? Will my stock valve train be fine with 272? And do 272 need to be adjusted?

yes, look for wear on lobes if a finger nail hangs on the surface forget it- you can add gears if you want too.

1. inspect them first , to be original hks 272

2. ur valve train will be fine , these are mild cams

3. leave the stock cam gears

yup hks will be stamped in the camshafts themselves. I would not buy camshafts with more then 5k miles and thats just me. 32k miles is overly used and unless your getting them for 100 might as well move on people sell used hks 272 with low low miles for 250-300.

yes, 250 for 32k miles is too much I would say. You can find them used with 1/10th of the miles for less than that.

i dont think 32k on cams is that much....i have HKS cams in my car for like 50,000 miles and have no issues at all. I dont think cams "go bad" like a turbo...

I am not sure about that because i follow all the cam sales and ppl usually ask for low mile cams for $500, and they are not even HKS? I personally think $250 seems a decent price, i might ask him ti bring it down to $200, plus sine when cams tend to go bad?

my car has had cams installed for around 50k miles with no issues...cams do wear but not enough to make a huge difference

I wouldnt pay that much for used cams with 30+k why is he even selling them? with that many miles i would start to wonder how bad they where beat on.

i dont know i think thats a pretty good deal for two cams, and the reason he is changing them is because he is going with more aggresive cams for more power...i dont know why some of you gus say, the cams have probably beaten on pretty bad, so what we have to change our oem ones every 30k miles since we always beat on them? My oem cams have 45k miles on them and they have seen some aggresive riding on them, so what now i HAVE to change them because the have gone bad? I had a dsm with rebuilt engine and 168k miles cams on it and it ran fine till i decided to change them for more power.
