3000 miles = clutch gone
Just hit 3000 miles a couple days ago yesterday clutch started slipping bad today almost not driveable. Dropped it off at the dealership tonite hopefully they won't be gay about it.
Sorry my friend, but they are about to stick it to ya, and I am talking the oh so gay way!!! their are alot of people fighting it some legally, don't let them push you around or bend you over.
you need to flip mode and stick it to them, And stick it to them hard enough that it satisfies all of us who have lost a clutch.
sorry, goodluck

No if I pressed on the gas more than a inch or so it will rev to redline then grab it was horrible I'm definately going to get new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel and if not all hell is going to break loose I was wired today when I got to the dealership I was just waiting for them to say somthing I didn't like.
I test drove an Evo - it had four miles on it. When I got on the freeway, I accelerated under full throttle to about 100mph. After I merged with traffic and got down to the speed of traffic, i smelt burnt clutch. At the time I thought maybe the brakes where stuck or something - it was just sooo odd to drive a BRAND NEW car and have the clutch slip.
I didn't shift the car unusually hard or drive it beyond its intended use.
IMO, the Evo clutch is insufficient for the car. ie. Defective.
I don't know what Mitsu's done to solve this problem, but Mitsu should do the right thing, and recall the clutch.

Sean Hall, your assertions that the clutch is weak and unsuitable for the car are not very well founded. Consider that you drove a car that was BRAND NEW (i.e. the clutch disk was never really used and hadn't broken in) and that you probably were not used to the clutch feel/engagement. I'd guesstimate that more than 95% of Evo owners have not had a clutch issue yet.
Your statement is akin to driving a car with brand new brakes, standing on them from 60-0mph relatively hard, then smelling brakes and wondering, "Damn, these brand new brakes are already smelly!".
