Oil Pressure Problem on 2.3L 4g63

Hello,

Recently installed a 2.3L engine. Noticed the oil pressure light is coming on when idle goes as low as 600 rpm. I thought this was no big deal, until today. In the middle of a corner, at abt 4000-4500 rpm, while on full throttle, the oil pressure light tuned on for abt 0.5sec then went away!

I'm begining to think there might be a problem with oil pressure, any ideas/inputs highly appreciated.

I experienced a similar issue with my "flickering" oil light. Turned out to be a faulty oil pressure sensor.

Eventually it went dead (oil light came on fully) while I was on the gas full throttle. Thought my engine was going to be toast. Turns out it was just the sensor.

It would be the first thing I'd check.

I have seen a lot of bad oil pressure sensors lately. I would start there. If possible, can you get a gauge on there and see what the pressure is?

^^^ that is the best advice, put a guage on it and see what the pressure is, if you didnt put the motor together that you dont really know what is going on. ive seen alot of sensors go bad, but you never know. better save than sorry.

When you are at the point where you have swapped bottom ends, things like oil pressure should be monitored anyway.

this might be obvious but also check your oil level
