Bled clutch; now pedal is dead and down to the floor

I've been having a werid spongey pedal for the past two days; So i just got home from school and i bled the clutch...with a vacuum bleeder that hooks up to a air compressor. The fluid was very dark, and it looked like there was alot of resistance when the tool was sucking the fluid out...then i heard the vacuum free up, so i thought it was done...when i went into my car i saw the pedal on the floor...and no matter how many times i pump it, its down to the floor, no pressure at all.

The clutch was replaced 3k miles ago.

Bad slave?

Did you make sure that the fluid didnt drain all the way out the back of the brake master cylinder. I made the mistake of only looking at the front of the master cylinder not noticing that that fluid was draining out of the rear section of the reservoir.

Bleed again. Top off all fluid and start with the master.

Good Luck.

Agree with poster one. Bleed again and make sure the fluid stays full and no air gets in the system.

You have to constantly refill the reservior while bleeding it or it will pick up air again.

+ to everyone. Sounds like air in the system. Refill and keep an eye on the fluid level.

Hey man had the same problem a week ago well i was driving around until suddenly my clutch pedal just dropped dead. I took the car to my mechanic he simply pulled out a pin from my clutch pedal it was worn out and there was a plastic ring that fit on it that was broken replaced it and off i went everything was good as new check this out you might have the same problem.

there is only one reservoir. The Brake MC reservoir feeds the clutch MC.

There is a small divider in the reservoir and its very small so the clutch can run out of fluid very quickly. While bleeding keep the reservoir filled to the very top (past the max line) into the neck.
