My car goes pop pop... breaking up.

so I have been trying to fine tune the car a bit since the weather change, did a pull from 3rd - 5th in the morning (freeway onramp) and car seemed fine... A lil over boosting, and knock @ 6500 each gear, (took care of that) So on the way home I tried to see if it cured the knock, and my car hit full boost late, and seemed like it was breaking up during spool up, (first time I have experienced this) and the car popped twice. "pop pop" so I let off of course. Im sitting there going WTF?!? Try it again, it does it again. so I gave up... There was only a 2 count thru the pull, before I let off.

The only thing that I can think of, is that maybe the car wasnt "fully" warmed up, as I had to bounce quicker than anticipated. I didnt just hop in and go WOT, but wasnt the normal 3-5 mins. or so...

Plugs are stock, somewhat fresh, ~ 2000 mi. and gapped to .023.

Could this be because I didnt let it get warmed up enough, or is there something going on here? Im a lil scared to go WOT now...

TIA

i flashed my car back to stock again so that i can remake a tune from scratch so i can get somewhat better i guess, I turned my boost up and started messing with it. i kept experiencing a pop and jerk when i would go WOT, i then realized i forgot to adjust my boost cut load after hours of trying to fix it in my tune. i kicked myself in the *** for that a few times. i suck at tuning haha

seems like it was because of it not being "fully" warmed up, as I went at it again this morning w/ out issue. On another rom, tho...

+1 to that, One of my buddies were making that pop pop noise close to red line and we decided to change the plugs which ended all of the pop pops.
NGK ftw

Obviously that has already been brought up as the OP said he was trying to tune the car... Maybe you should read a lil more

buy new plugs, they are the cheapest thing you can do and usually correct most problems. Plugs can fail very easily sometimes. I change my plugs about every 2k miles.

Sounds like the same problem I had turns out it was just the plugs! Now time to change out the wires.
