I want a bigger turbo

Yes its time for a bigger turbo! I currently have a 30r and am wanting to move up to a 35R or somthing along the lines of that. The car is a Daily driver now but wont be for long, I will still probably drive it 3 or 4 times a week so i still want it to be streetable. What will i need to change to run a bigger turbo? I have a full race manifold and injen IC piping. Is there any turbos that are compatable with them both? Id like to spend the least money possible. Any help is greatly apreciated.

Its a Precision turbo. You'll need to find a hotside that matches your current downpipe bolt pattern unless you want to have that changed out as well. The 3586HTA is my drug of choice, the second would be 82HTA or the new Black (requires a change back to stock type manifold setup).

What brand 30R setup is this? A normal T3/T4 or an ATP style?

Its a Garret ball bearing setup. I bought the car with most of the mods already done. I am still learning about everything. I just want a lil more power and people have told me the 30r isnt capable of much more than 400whp is this true?

Honestly on a 30r you should have more then 400hp, who tuned the car?

Considering your car is like mind, upgrade to a HTA30r or HTA35r and pick up the AMS F-1 intake manifold that should get some Hp! I should be hitting 480whp on my setup

If the bolt patterns to the downpipe are both the same all you should have to do is switch out the turbos

FWIW - We have a 30r stock block evo9 that runs E-85 and put down over 450 on our MD.

It recently went 11.1 @ 125 mph his car is in the drag sec thread about the Hoosier DR's

the stock evo9 will make more than 400whp, so the 30R should def make more than 400whp. you might need a better tune and some fuel map adjustments.

Sounds like you need to learn more about the car and work on getting in properly setup. Stock turbos are being pushed beyond 400whp (DynoJet) on pump gas even.
