Front diff went out...possibly tc as well?

Well after some hard launching my car started to bind up in turns as well as clunk when I turned the vehicle. These are the signs of a blown differential. My car has never had the death whine but has had a little whine when down-shifting into first gear and only first gear. Now the noise is slightly louder but I still have no high speed whine. I am going to be getting a new front diff but I was wondering If you guys think my tc is going bad too. For obvious reasons I am not driving the car but want to get back into the seat asap as driving a focus is not quite as enjoyable. Thanks in advance!
Andrew

Thanks man I hope we both get running soon! And the axles appear fine its just there is this smelly yellow fluid on my tc around where the left cv joint enters into the tc.

I blew my tc in the fall. Since your car's an 04, and you've launched it, and have some power adders, its a good bet the case is weak, and causing your problems. Send it to shep, and get the stage 2. It's pricey if you want the MR LSD, but I recommend it, the engagement is so nice. Shep's work is incredible, and the turn around time for me was 2 weeks and I live in Canada.

If you just blew the front diff then it is an easy fix as the t-case dosen't even have to come down.

I have a low mile front diff if you need 65.00 to get you back on the road.

The front differential is housed where? in the transmission?

the diff is inside the t case. i blew my diff up before and just opt for the basic rebuild by shep. came back great. wish i had the money for the IX front lsd.

the mitsu lsd is the same the RS IX or MR. it is the upgrade for the evo VIII. but you can go for an aftermarket one for more cash. and those are usually stronger hope that helps

Ah! Clarity, thanks guys. I was pretty sure the center diff was also the controlling device for the front axles. That's how it mechanically looked when I put the car back together.

Well we drained my tcase fluid and it was perfect. lifted the car and started turning the wheels and stuff and it turns ut the binding can be felt if you res your hand on my tranny. Andd the noise is within my tranny. The noise when i still have the clutch engaged but put it into first are my synchros. Probably my center diff. Anyways drained the trans fluid and it has tons of metal in it and is also metallic.
