Ceramic ball or metal ball

I recently purchased a Hallman Pro Rx with the additional metal ball. I'm currently tuned at 26lbs of boost. Which ball should I use? I'm currently running on the ceramic ball wi the heavy spring. When I called Hallman they told me that for my application I should run the metal ball. Which should I use?

If the MBC is hitting and holding 26 psi then just leave it as it is.

Why did Hallman recommend the metal ball?

I don't know why she recommended the metal ball. Maybe I'm giving too much credit to the receptionist that answered the phone when I called.

Maybe so the boost doesn't fluctuate as much with a lighter ball...?

Hmmm seems odd, I do know that with a metal ball MBC that I ended up coating everything inside with anti-sieze to avoid corrosion issues over time. This is on another brand MBC but the same concept still applies. You would think the ceramic ball MBC would be superior in every way though.

The metal ball is fine. The ceramic ball is lighter so it reacts faster for cars running less boost.

Sooo.... your saying more boost=metal ball; less boost=ceramic ball. Maybe that's what she was talking about.

I'm running the heavy spring with the ceramic ball right now at 26psi till redline.

Im sure it will work either way. I just am saying that spending the extra 20 on the RX model is not needed for our application at all. There are a lot of vendors who just sell the rx to make a few extra bucks and don't understand what it is meant for.

When you called hallman You spoke with Julie and she knows what she is talking about.

You were tuned on a 26psi spike, if you truly are running 26 at redline your tune is off right now.
