I was wondering if anyone is running DEI reflect-a-gold (or something similar) under their exhaust mani heat shield?

Curious if it would bring down the engine temps at all.

 

I have the Buschur coated manifold and have thought about putting the DEI blanket on the manifold to reduce engine bay temperatures.....Sorry I don't have any data on the gold reflective tape, but CBRD uses it (as do a few other race teams)....

I think when summer time comes around I will give it a try and do some data logging. BTW I also have a ceramic coated manifold.

 

Look for the thread from Indy Evo on the Silver ultra high reflective material -- it reflects about 30% more than the "common" gold foil products. You can get it from Indianapolis Earl's store where they keep it in stock and sell it by the foot.
