Joe Gibbs oil...

Anybody running it? Which version? I've heard great things and thinking about trying it out. Been looking at XP1, XP3, and XP7. Just been stubborn since I haven't found what are the spec clearances on the 4G63; plus it would be nice to hear from fellow Evo owners about it.

I've also thought about Brad Penn 20-50, but not sure if I should really be running something that thick, especially with a stock motor.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with the different versions, but aren't these oils formulated with extra ZDDP specifically for use in older non roller cam (flat tappet) pushrod engines? If so, they're not needed for a 4G63, or anything else made in the last ~25 yrs, which either uses roller lifters or has an OHC. Also, the ZDDP has been removed from newer oils to prolong cat converter life. AFAIK these are basically "musclecar" oils.

IMO stick with your favorite synthetic.
