what do you think about this??!! evo ix head without mivec
GT4508 w/ Tial 1.01 V band, 48psi, VP Import, 10:1 compression ER motor with a GSC CNC head and S3s. We then bolted on an AMS VSR and ETS prototype air to water intercooler. It all got lit by a SparkTech CDI and controlled with an AEM. It ran a best mph of 166.6 and had some problems before it lost a motor but managed an 8.9 the same day.
well if it wasnt for the later half of that original post it would be an LS7 swapped into a 935 and a turbo or 2. I have a chevelle I could do that too, but I wanna get an old Porsche or if it were a newer one a 3.8L 996 and twin 67s on it or something.
[QUOTE=droppedrx7;7985276]and and 800 hp or over honda, is it vtec??

fyi ...I know of 2 local hondas that retain vtec that are well over 800whp,one of which has trapped as high as 173mph....

john is that car running 4 or 8 injectors? have two manifolds, one with for and one with 8, im thinking about using the 8 injectors for tuning and idle and driveability before boost. BUT id much rather buy 4 injectors rather than 8 :-) with a 47r what injectors would you reccomend for the 4 injector setup and the 8 injector setup. i have aem ems and a full standalone system, cell, a1000 primary and smaller secondary pump, i have two different manifolds and 2 rails. i just dont know wich route to go, i dont even know if its possible to get away with 4 injectors with a 47r. whats your input on this? thanks man
i have aem ems, painless harness, car is gutted, everything from scratch, everything standalone. i bought an entire cosworth valvetrain, cams, gears, and machine work = over 5k actually. that does include the machine and stuff to block off the oil lines for the mivec. and if you look at ANY 800hp or over evo, is it mivec?? and and 800 hp or over honda, is it vtec?? no. dan from ams said the highest evo hes had tuned with mivec was not even 700 hp with tons of parts and tons of boost.
i dont think i want some stupid computer playing around with the timing on a cosworth motor and ppg trans with a gt47r turbo, 8 1000cc injectors, c16 and 45+ lbs of boost, and meth and/or n20. NOT gonna happen. ditch the mivec crap.
now, in my aem i do have the option to tune the mivec, also i can turn the feature completely off, so ill turn it off and if these 8 cams fit in the 9 casting with 8 gears, ill turn it off in the ecu, block the oil lines off and bee on my way. this will probaly be the first ix head with 8 cams and gears, someone from buschur and dan from ams both said its impossible and to just build an 8 head and put it on my 9 block, not gonna happen, i WILL have the first 9 head with no mivec and 8 cams and 2 adjustable gears, not one, and hopefully make tons of power doing it :-) wish me luck! thanks for your input (some of ya's anyways)

running no mivec is actually easier than most would think.
Evo 8 intake cam. Leave the intake cam trigger off, use an adjustable cam gear (cams will have to be degreeed), you will also need an evo 8 cam seal and cam gear bolt. Don't plug the mivec holes as you will need them to lubricate the first journal.
