Have a question about AC condensor

Hello everyone, I was on the dyno today and while we were making a pull, my AC condensor basically blew out. It was smoking and sparks were flying! My car was making about 480 at 24psi and we all now that there are people that make more than that with out problems. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else, as the guys at the shop were telling me that I was the second person they have seen that happen to and they couldn't understand why... Does anyone know why? thanks...

why were you running A/C on the dyno anyway? Or was it not on?

lol it wasn't on. it just blew up. It also happened to a friend of mine. he went through 3 in a week, and he's been building cars for a long time. Him and the guys at the shop are all confused about this.

a/c is under 140psi even when off. condenser is very thin. can burst at any time if it was bumped at some time during service.
