Question regarding injectors...

Hey guys,

I'm just curious to know if my Evo IX will get much better gas milage with the stock injectors vs. my 1000cc injectors that are already on the car.

MODS:
- DC sports downpipe
- DC sports cat-back with HKS muffler
- AMS FMIC
- AGP LICP
- TurboTrix UICP
- Tial 50mm BOV
- EvoPowerMods external o2 dump
- Forced Performance 18psi wastgate actuator
- Turbo XS MBC
- Buschur Racing ported stock exhaust manifold
- Aeromotive high flow fuel rail
- Precision 1000cc injectors
- Warlboro high pressure fuel pump
- ACT street disc clutch
- ACT LightWeight flywheel
- Perrin Short Throw
- ProSport Gauges
- Perrin Shift Knob
- Rota Tourqe 18" Gunmetal Wheels

The car has a great tune on it, I'm not knocking that, it's just for the time being it's impractical for me. The car is my DD so I need to get better gas milage than 217 miles per tank (conservative driving).

Any ideas?

I was contemplating on taking the car down to DTM in VA to have them tune it.
All mods would stay the same except for me replacing the 1000cc injectors with the stockers.

To give some of you a clue, I don't even have to punch it for the car to shoot extremely rich emissions into the air...I am not crazy about that at all. I want better gas milage.

Thanks for any insight.

Danny

ask your tuner what duty those 1000cc injectors are running at. There is no reason for you to have those with your mods unless you are running e85 imo

If you want good gas mileage trade it in for a Honda. LOL no seriously. I've heard of guys with big turbos getting better gas mileage because of the tune and the laggy turbo. If your injectors are setup properly they shouldn't "shoot extremely rich emissions into the air" however the stock tune is fairly rich to start with. Not that you are on the stock tune.

I agree! since your on stock turbo theres no reason for that big of an injector....you could get 750's to be safe but that'd be a waste of money....you could prolly go stock injectors just make sure that the tune is good and your not maxing them out
