AMS...
Thats awesome! Im trying very hard not to curse while saying that! jeje
But see if you could take 10mins of your time to register the Evo on your profile and list all the parts and your ratings of those parts. That way we can check it out and see what we have to put on our christmas wish list!
Oh and if you could put a little discription of the part and how it helped or whatever comes to mind that be awesome.
Thanks alot and great job!

*Damn, 600hp* Daddy like....

AMS 3" S.S. cat-back exhaust
AMS 3" Test Pipe
AMS GT2 Turbo kit -700hp capable
HKS 272/272 Cams
Apex-i S-AFC II
AMS 780 cc/min inj.
ASM 255lph HP fuel pump
AMS FMIC
AMS Lower intercooler pipe
AMS Upper Intercooler pipe w/Tial BOV
Greddy Profec B spec II boost controller
It was run at 1.9 bar on the EVO8 and we have pushed the same turbo to 2.4 bar and over 625whp on a DSM.

Of all these the Upper intercooler pipe gave very little if no gains whatsoever on the dyno.

From what I understood the front diff was from a JDM EVO VIII and was a stock limited slip piece.
Thanks for all the positive feedback and some of you locals should come out for a ride in this beast.

Really? The helical diff from the JDM Evo8 fit? hmmmm... I thought Shiv had some fitment issues with the one he got, or did he get the RalliArt diff?

The way a torsen works is that the internal gears bind up against each other and push each other apart to tranfer torque from one end to the other. This action inherently causes diff failure if too much torque is applied.
I have never heard of a helical locking diff breaking from 300whp.

I said 300 cause the front diff only takes half of the torque, the rear diff takes the rest. Remember a 50/50 split...

Sure there were not flaws with the diff before it was installed?

Something just doesn't sound right. Quaife and TRD both make helical differentials and I know atleast two people using them at your power level and have never had a problem. They are both rear drive cars so all the power goes threw the one diff.

Yes I too would love to know if you are running a stock motor as well. Considering 1.9 bars = 27.56 PSI of boost and HKS 272 cams on stock springs???? this would be great news for the stock motor but then again anything will run... the point is for how long? or is this motor with a stock forged crank and rods built to take this?? If so this would be great for the upgrade path I am hearing from other camps that anything above stock boost is recommended to change out the conrod bolts to ARP and the springs due to floating on bigger HKS cams? Any thoughts on these suggestions.
