Angry Us EVO Buyers got gyped

Why did mitsubishi only give us 271 HP? England got 300. Same with japan. I bought the car because I love how the Evo looks, handles And the overal package. All the magazines were posting Low to high 13 second Qaurter mile times. Well Mine will not go faster than 14.034 @ 97.34 Mph. Same with my friend Alex His car ran a 14.012. Then I see an STI run a 13.213. Also we got a weak clutch and flywheel. I think mitsubishi needs to do some explaining.

you need:

Xede
Pocketlogger

Those are your ticket to low, low 13 second timeslips =)

Learn how to tune your ECU's fuel and timing maps. We have very ****ty gas here in the US so Mitsu gave all the cars a really REALLY ****ty base map to go off of. Timing is pulled like crazy on these cars.

Our cars have the same components as UK and Japan, they are just not tuned effectively for our fuel.

Yea its all about the fuel/ignition timing. Even if you put 94 octane in there it still needs an assload of tuning.

I still dont know why all the mags have these ringer cars though... its like the timing was bumped way up on them..

I thought the same thing. Will the Xede just tune the fuel/ignition timing or will it also Hold a Higher boost through the RPM band? Also I thing the by-pass valve that came with the car sucks. Do You think the it leaks boost. If I put an after market one in will I get more power?

What are you talking about... He sucks at driving and so does his friend. He doesen't need any mods. You need to practice driving to hit low 13's. Or high 13's with a bad track/weather. I sucked at launching this car the first time I had it out...the more times i'm out the better I run.

If I launch the car any harder the trainy will fall out. I know Im not the best driver but The car should do 13's a little easier.

Talk about ****ty gas and times try coming out here to So. Cal and watch your 271 hp go down to 250 on 91 oct. some fine tuning of the ecu and the car should run great. We got a great foundation just needs a little tweaking. Find a place that has 100 oct and mix like i do. car runs better imo.By the way has any Evo in So Cal ran 13.5or below on 91 oct.OUT!

it's not the tranny that will fall out, it's the clutch that'll get cooked. where do you shift now? maybe you're shifting too high/low and that could make a difference..im not an evo owner so i wouldnt know but im guessing someone here must know a good shift point. good luck!
