car keeps stalling: codes p0335, p0340

It will stall at stop signs and lights. (Idle is a bit rough and runs a bit choppy at times.) I cleared the CEL but it keeps coming back. I heard it could be because of a dying battery? I searched and found many answers. Any ideas? (I thought it was the plugs, so I changed them but wasn't it? I'm also getting the standard P0300 misfire as well.

The car has Buschur 3065 and HKS 272 cams, rc 1000cc injectors.

List all mods for the cars. What is the BOV situation? Recirc, VTA? The random misfire code could be many things, sometimes it will just be due to the cams that are installed. Mine used to do the random misfire, but I just had to smooth the timing map out a little bit and it went away.

Has this all of a sudden happened, or is it after you installed a new part?

p0335 is a code for the crank sensor. it's possible it's on it's way out. the misfire is probably related. i've seen these go bad on cars and it will randomly die or crank no start. good luck.

I think this is my problem too??? Could the cam angle sensor also cause this???? I am getting frustrated!!! Car is intermittently bucking and running poorly at low rpm's too.

ps: could a boost leak cause this too?

Where in pa you at man. I have a cam sensor you can try if you wanna stop by. If you let the car idle then depress the clutch do the rpms dip?

That happens to my car typically when coming to stop signs of going into parking spots. I'm running HKS BOV VTA which from what I've read is likely the issue. I'll be putting the EIDS on in about 2 weeks that's supposed to clear my problems. I have no CEL light either.

I asked that because crankwalk will make the car stall and also kills crankposition sensors. And anytime man, I do what I can. I am thinking of starting a shop so getting people to know you is always a good thing.

sorry if this is dumb but is there a difference between the crank position sensor and cam angle sensor? because you guys mentioned both and i want to see if one of these is causing my car to idle weird and almost stall. it also turns over slowly when i start it sometimes

there is a difference. crank position sensor is for the crank and the cam sensor is for the cams. with the p0335, i would imagine you should try the crank sensor first, but there may be underlying issues as someone mentioned crankwalk. a scantool would be very handy if you had access to one. if not, you got two choices. throw a crank sensor at it, and rule that out, or take it to a shop. hopefully you get it fixed one way or the other. good luck!

The crank position sensor is def more of a pain to change. You have to take the lower timng cover off to get to it.
