After deciding to get a rebuilt TC from Shep, my friend came and said that I should go for a cheaper option which is getting a used Evo 8's TC. He said that Evo8's transfer cases are stronger because they came without an AYC. I'm not sure about that but what do you guys think? Is this statement true?

 

im pretty sure all evo TCs are weak when it comes to 300+ wtq. there are some cases of higher tq evos that have lested on stock TC, but im sure thats with careful driving and limited or no launching. true, there are some differences between the older VIII and 05+ VIII and IX but they are negligible when it comes to the amt of power they can handle. you pretty much have 2 choices: stay with the stock one u have and baby it and hope for the best, or get urs or a used one built and have some extra protection...it still wont be bullet-proof tho
