Titek vs Megan o2

I hear a coated megan o2 is pretty much the way to go. But I've been noticing a few threads mentioning the Titek o2 and it looks pretty good too, anybody got any experience between the two? Also I've heard people say that an o2 housing can cause surge.... do these two create any problems?

I'm looking for information from people with experience on both, probably on different cars though. Tuners and people who have helped various friends.

Also, I'm getting ready to do my first round of mods. TBE, walbro, boost controller, licp, filter. But I hear the o2 can be a pain in the butt. Second round of mods will be turbo/intercooler/injectors. Should I do the o2 now while I'm doing the down pipe, or should I wait until I'm doing the turbo?

Thanks,

Install the o2 housing while the turbo is out. 100 times easier. I did it both ways and never doing it again with the turbo still on the car.

I don't have experience with the Titek o2 so I can't comment.

I will tell you I have been shopping for both and Titek is definitely higher quality but both are backordered! So I went with Invidia (which you don't have to worry about porting) and has the larger opening at 2.9'. There are a lot of mixed reviews whether to port the Megan or not, I personally didn't want to deal with that.

megan got the job done for me,, however i have seen the invidia and it seems to be a tru 3" housing,, turbos like to breath,,, in a turbo can bigger is better unline normally aspirated where you want a little backpressue.

i was hard headed and i installed my megan with the turbo on the car,,, much harder.

Invidia, Titek V2....both GREAT o2 housings.....As for Megan, they are kinda hit or miss. So people have great luck and results, while others have issues. Overall, the Megan is good "bang for the buck".

I'm using a Invidia o2 housing, because it seemed to be the best o2 housing out there. It's cast stainless, so relliability is not an issue. It's HUGE, so added back pressure is not an issue and it looks great. It also retains the factory bracing, which is KEY if you're going to run a tubular manifold.

I have the Titek V2 and I like it.. The interior of the housing is silky smooth, I think they use a method called lose wax or something like that. The chanber has no rough surfaces and the welding are robotic.
Between the megan racing and the Titek definately the Titek. The Megan directly reflects the quality on its price, I am not saying is bad but Titek is better finished. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure it's 2.5" cuz I had to use the adapter to make the WORKS 3" downpipe fit.
